As the daughter of a Royal Canadian Air Force Corporal I travelled extensively as a young girl and lived in Canada’s most beautiful cities, including Halifax, Ottawa, Vancouver, Montreal, and Toronto. As a teenager, I discovered a love of the fine arts and went on to graduate from the New York School of Interior Design. I also hold a BA in Religious Studies from the University of Waterloo.

I now spend my days in a Montessori classroom, where I teach reading and mathematics to young children.

I enjoy my hobbies of genealogy, writing, and history, especially French history. I am passionate about the city of Paris, and return often to my “home away from home.”

I became a Baroness in 1996, when I married Austrian-born Baron Friedrich (Fred) Beck, who passed away in August of 2009. I am the mother of a grown daughter, Laura, and I welcomed my first grandchild, a beautiful little granddaughter named Claire, on June 27, 2010.

As you read this blog, you will notice that I have a particular fondness for Audrey Hepburn, whom I try to emulate whenever possible.
